The second way the Morrises take care of planet Earth is by using a recycling bin to throw plastic, paper, and cans away.
Just like hanging clothes, there is a selfish factor involved in recycling. Most of the things that need to be recycled are big, bulky items that take a lot of space in our trash can. Items such as milk jugs, cereal boxes, newspaper, breakfast juice containers, etc. So because we have a separate container for these items, our regular trash can does not fill up as fast as it would if we didn't recycle. Hence, we don't use as many trash bags (money saver), we don't have to deal with that chore as frequently, etc. (Don't worry, we are not pigs, we DO changer our trash often enough).
