Playing together

In spite of Emma being gone at school all day, these two continue to be best friends.  And I love it when they get absorbed in their little world.

Here I found them yesterday in the playhouse, playing "rest time" and quietly reading books side by side (!!!).

And then here they are working together on a puzzle.  How fun!

Mother's Day 2017

I got to celebrate my fifth Mother's Day this year.  I don't take motherhood for granted, and I'm honored to have been entrusted to these little ones.

Our garden

Our garden seems to be coming along quite nicely this year.  However, it looks like our carrots and corn will be ready for harvest while we are away in Mexico this summer, which makes us all very sad.  However, it has been a lot of fun to watch our garden come to life this year so far, so worse case scenario and we don't enjoy the majority of the fruit of our labor, it will still have been a lot of fun to do.

This plant seems to have popped up out of nowhere.  I wonder if it was a stray seed in one of our packages.  We think it's cucumber.  It will be fun to see what it turns out to be.

And our tomatoes.

Dessert night with some friends

Out for dessert and coffee with some MOPS friends to celebrate the end of our year.

Naamen and his baby

Naamen seems to really like being a daddy.  He loves playing with Emma's dolls.  I love it when he does this.

Proudly sitting his baby in the high chair.

Taking the baby shopping.

Byron enjoys his new tool bag

I found some cabinet locks at a yard sale for 50 cents and put Byron right at work to get two of them on right away directly bellow are kitchen sink.  He was proudly showing off his new tool bag Mom gave him for Christmas, so I thought I'd record it and show it to her.

Emma's first sleepover

Byron got to go have his first sleepover with Ames at his house while Emma got to invite friend Leah (who is closer to Byron in age, but is a good friend to Emma as well).  The had a fun time together, making homemade pizza for dinner Saturday night...

... and then bacon and pancakes for breakfast Sunday morning.

Emma was very "motherly" towards her, and made sure she was delivered safely back to her parents at church on Sunday morning.  Here you see Emma holding Leah's hand and carrying her backpack while crossing the street to enter the church.
